Friday afternoon, Jordan messaged Casey and Sam in their group chat about Saturday's pottery class. “I hate to throw a wrench in the plan, but I just realized the new time conflicts with a family commitment. I can’t make the 2 p.m. session after all. I’m really sorry—I should have checked before we confirmed it.”

If Maya can’t go, I can meet you halfway and send you half the class fee tonight.” Casey answered, “That’s generous, but let’s not decide yet. If we find a substitute, you shouldn’t have to pay twice.”
