Estratto

Thanks for coming in, Emma. We're looking for a designer for our travel brochures, so I'd like to hear you describe a place. Can you tell me about somewhere you've traveled recently?

Emma

Sure. Last spring I spent a week in Lisbon, Portugal. It's a city built on hills, so almost every street gives you a view of the river or the orange rooftops.

Carter

That sounds nice. What did the old part of the city look like?

Emma

The old neighborhood is called Alfama. The streets are narrow and made of stone, and the buildings are covered with colorful tiles — blue, yellow, green. You can hear music coming from small restaurants in the evening.

Carter

Good details. If you had to describe it for a brochure, what would you focus on?
