Isaac

Audrey, do you have a few minutes? The restaurant’s been shut since lunch, and I’m still trying to wrap my head around how our manager handled the gas leak.

Audrey

Sure. What happened, Isaac? You sound a little rattled.

Isaac

A customer caught a whiff of gas around noon. We cleared the place right away, but the manager kept insisting we’d be back open “within the hour.”

Audrey

That’s optimistic, to put it mildly. Had the fire department actually given the all-clear?

Isaac

Not even close. They hadn’t gotten there yet. He was passing off a guess as a timeline.
