We could walk the breakwater first, then compare it with the lakefront in our own town.

I’ve been to Marquette before, so I can tell you you’ll notice immediately that it feels more exposed; the wind comes straight off Superior instead of funneling between buildings.

If the forecast holds, the water should be calm enough for us to see the old ore docks clearly.
